Description

Play the classic space artillery game Gravity Wars on your iPhone or iPod Touch!

The galaxy is swarming with our enemies, Commander. We have requisitioned a remote-controlled stationary ballistics spacecraft for you, and emplore you to help us drive the scum out. Use your remote surveillance and control device to line up your shot angle and force, then launch your missile and watch its smoke trail as it travels through space toward your target. But it's not as easy as point-and-shoot! Any number of random planetary bodies may block a direct path. As a trained and highly-skilled SBS operator, however, you can turn these obstructions to your advantage by using their gravitational pull to bend and shape the path of your projectile directly to your target's hiding spot.

We probably don't need to tell a veteran like you the dangers of missing. Even a fresh-from-the-academy rookie knows that the path an object takes when in orbit is a circular one, and there's always a risk that a poorly placed shot can have potentially embarrassing (and expensive) consequences.

Taking aim has never been easier with your specially-designed touch-interface. Tap directly on the targeting reticle to set both angle and force, then slide your fingers on the fine-tuning strips to either side to make minute adjustments. Once you have lined up your shot for perfect destruction, tap the launch button at the center of the reticle and sit back to watch the sparks fly!

Features:

- Designed ground-up for the iPhone and iPod touch

- Zoom and pan the battlefield for the best view of your in-flight shots

- Two-player or single-player mode (configurable in your Settings app)

- A plethora of other available settings:

- Independently set planet and ship colors

- Set how many recent shot paths to display

- Enable black holes and negative gravity for added challenge

- Change the number of planets and their radii

- Even change the strength of gravity itself!

What are you waiting for, Commander? Grab the controls and join the fray! The battle for galactic supremacy has just begun...

Alright

:
The game that I downloaded was alright but it really has the chance to be a top seller. First of all make the ships bigger. Hitting someone feels like a 1/1000000 shot sometimes. Add a single person mode where you fight against a computer and/or a target challenge mode (set up a target at the end of some planets and see how many shots it takes to hit it). The shot trails are a nice touch but when you're trying to zero in on someone it looks like one big white line which doesn't help much. So have the 3rd 4th 5th... Shots get progressably darker so it's easy to see what was just shot. Maybe change the targeting system like it is in "Bowman" so you can see the target as you're lineing up your shot. If not the just remove the need to tap your ship to start the targetting (because it's so small that I end up moving the map most of the time). Also add a replay system so you can watch the last shot. Finally add a money/shopping system so you can buy different munitions. Do all of this and you'll have a hit on your hands.

Simple, but fun

:
Single player lacks an A.I. (you're enemy does not fire back) Hopefully, they will add one. The game is reminiscent of the game, "Scorched Earth," except it's in space.

NOTE: the settings for this app are in the settings app, not within this app itself. A lot of programmers to that to save time: instead of having to create the settings user interface, they just supply a list of settings to the settings application, which has it's own user interface already (hope that makes sense).
